| NHRA Tech issues reminder on beadlock ring mounting 3/3/2006 |

- The NHRA Technical department has released the following reminder regarding proper procedures and mounting of any SFI Spec beadlock wheel and the accompanying wheel ring that is required in Top Fuel - Funny Car - Pro Stock - Top Alcohol Dragster - Top Alcohol Funny Car and Pro Modified (Comp).
- The 2006 NHRA Rulebook states (page 194) that "under no circumstances may any certified product by modified altered or in any way vary from the 'as manufactured' condition.
- Such a practice is in violation of the SFI - Snell - DOT etc. program voids such certification and therefore will not be accepted by NHRA."

Also the beadlock wheel and ring must be "utilized in an unaltered manner consistent with the manufacturer's installation and instruction books unless otherwise approved."

The NHRA Technical staff will check that vehicles in competition are in compliance with these rules throughout the season and penalties for noncompliance will be imposed in accordance with the Rulebook.
